Description
The Giant Trance X 29 3 is a full-suspension 29er trail bike for rough, technical singletrack, from fast and flowing to steep and rocky. Its ALUXX SL-grade aluminium frame uses Giant’s Maestro rear suspension with 135mm of travel, matched to a 150mm RockShox 35 Gold RL fork. A flip chip in the carbon upper rocker arm gives two geometry settings, steeper or slacker, so you can set the bike up for your trails. The trunnion-mounted Fox Float DPS Performance shock feels smooth and supple and still pedals well on the climbs. Gearing is SRAM SX Eagle 1×12 with an 11-50 cassette, and Shimano MT420 four-piston hydraulic brakes, with a 203mm rotor in front and 180mm at the back, give strong stopping on long descents. It rolls on Giant AM 29 alloy wheels with Maxxis tubeless tyres (a 2.5-inch Minion DHF in front, a 2.4-inch Dissector at the back), and a Giant Contact Switch dropper post lets you lower the saddle for the descents.
