Giant’s road catalogue has three flagship platforms. They look similar from a distance, but they’re built for genuinely different riding. This is the guide we walk every road customer through in the showroom.
TCR — the classic race bike
Lightweight, direct, aggressive geometry. TCR is what you want if you race, climb hard, or care about lap times. It’s the Giant road bike with the longest pedigree, and the frame everyone else measures against.
Propel — the aero specialist
Deep tube profiles, integrated cockpit, low front end. Propel is faster on rolling terrain and flat sprints because it cuts drag. Slightly heavier than TCR, but on courses where wind matters more than climbing, it wins.
Defy — the endurance road bike
Taller stack, longer wheelbase, more relaxed geometry, D-Fuse seatpost for compliance. Defy is what you want for long days, rougher tarmac, and the Nairobi–Naivasha–Nakuru rides where surface quality varies.
