What is Liv?
Liv is the women’s brand from Giant. Liv bikes are designed for women. You do not have to ride a Liv bike as a woman. Many women ride Giant bikes and love them. Liv simply gives you another option, and some riders find the fit more natural from the first ride.

Liv Tempt 29 4: the first mountain bike
The Liv Tempt 29 4 has a lightweight ALUXX aluminium frame designed for women, a front suspension fork, hydraulic disc brakes and a low standover height. That low standover gives you room to put a foot down with confidence. It suits Karura Forest, weekend trails and fitness rides.
Embolden 2: more trail bike
The Embolden 2 has an ALUXX SL aluminium frame, a 100mm SR Suntour fork, Shimano Deore 1×10 gears, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and 29-inch wheels. It is a step up for riders who want more from the trail.
Liv Intrigue 29 2: full suspension
The Liv Intrigue 29 2 has an ALUXX SL aluminium frame with Maestro rear suspension giving 125mm of travel, and 29-inch wheels. Full suspension adds grip and comfort on rocky, rooty ground such as the Ngong Hills. Choose it if you ride rough trails often.
Liv Avail AR 1: road and all-road
The Liv Avail AR 1 has an Advanced-grade carbon frame, Shimano Ultegra 2×11 gears, hydraulic disc brakes and 700x32c tubeless tyres. The wider tyres keep it comfortable on rough Nairobi tarmac and long rides out of town.
Liv kids bikes: Adore and Enchant
The Liv Adore F/W 12 and Liv Adore F/W 16 have light aluminium frames and a coaster brake, so a child stops by pedalling backwards. The Adore F/W 12 also comes with training wheels. Liv sizing: how to choose
Start with your height. As a rough guide, riders around 158 to 168 cm fit a small mountain bike and riders around 168 to 178 cm a medium. Our Giant and Liv size guide has full charts for mountain, road and kids bikes.

- Between sizes? Go smaller for easier handling and stand-over room. Go larger for stability on long rides.
- Come in for a free fit. We check stand-over, saddle height, reach and brake lever reach before you buy.
Where to ride your Liv bike around Nairobi
A mountain bike opens up the forest trails at Karura and Ngong Road Forest, and the steeper, rockier ground of the Ngong Hills once you have more confidence. A road bike suits early-morning tarmac rides out of town, such as Magadi Road, when traffic is light. Start with short rides, build up each week, and ride with a friend or a group when you can.
What to add to your first Liv bike
